I really wanted to give 5 stars... Delicious and beautifully presented food. The sashimi was a work of art and delicious, the green tea was the best I've had for a long time, and the matcha ice cream (and caramel-style sauce) was lovely. We didn't feel hurried, and ginger and water was subtly refilled without asking. Disappointingly, it was otherwise hard to get the attention of the hosts, and I definitely felt I was imposing when asking for more green tea - it was served in a relatively small cup which sat empty for about 10 minutes before I ordered another, which then arrived in a new cup, freshly brewed, only for the process to repeat. A late and unexpected addition to our table was kindly seated, but not served as he had only arrived in time for the end of dessert, and did not want a main meal - the policy of the restaurant maybe, but encouraging us to finish and leave nonetheless.
The best Japanese food I've ever tasted
This is a very small Japanese restaurant accomodating just twelve people at a time, located in South Wimbledon just 5 minutes walk away from the tube station. The service is excellent, almost like a fine Michelin restaurant,small plates at a time with Miso, I had the Sashimi deluxe plate at a whopping 38.50, but it was good, I wished the portions were a bit bigger.
The best sushi I have ever had in my life. It was uneasy to find a good place, and we tend to go to Sticks&Sushi just to be sure of a quality and consistency, but this place is the top spot. Must try. Small, cosy, requires a reservation, but authentic and delicious.
For me, the best sashimi in London. It's very noticeable that the chef has access to some great produce and also treats it really well. Been more than 3 times now and always been consistently good!
